My little warrior.

Today's the day baby.
Let's go get this little heart of yours fixed.
You are so brave and I'm trying to follow your lead.

I've always said...you are small, but you are mighty.
You've got this.

And we'll be right there with you.

Girls Weekend.

Last weekend while Nicholas was away for a weekend bachelor party, we had a girls weekend at home.
We lucked out with amazing weather on Saturday and, with the exception of naps, spent the day almost entirely outside.
Which meant there were zero meltdowns all day.
The outdoors are like soul food for little ones I tell ya.

And these babes are my soul food.
I love you my girls.

{Perhaps}

"Perhaps they are not the stars
but openings in the Heaven
where the love of our lost ones
pours through
and shines upon us
to let us know
they are happy"

-Unkown

This past week brought with it the memorial services of two incredibly lovely people.
Two incredibly kind, courageous, inspiring people.
Two people who will be greatly missed.
Two more people whose battle with cancer is now over.

Cancer terrifies me. It angers me. It makes me question.

But perhaps...
Perhaps the ONE good thing that cancer can do is to help us realize.
To see the beauty in the everyday. To not take it for granted.
To remember how very fragile this life really is.
To be kind.
To hold our loved ones close.
Every day.

And to look up at the sky and know that these angels are happy.

Fathers Day Weekend.

We had such a fun weekend of beaching, brunching, and playing to celebrate this guy.
We're so happy you are ours!

{Summer so far}

It's hard for me to believe that it's actually summertime already. I still feel like it was just starting to be spring! But mid-June I think officially can be declared "summer", so off we go! (sunshine please make your appearance for good and stick around for...oh, say the next 4 months?!)

****************************************
BBQ's and friend gatherings have started. And they seem to all include a bagillion kiddos running around.

Just the way I like it.

****************************************
My girl is a HUGE Mariner's fan. I think it might have a little something to do with the fact that her daddy is also a huge fan, but she loves them. One game we were watching on t.v. she yelled to the screen,  "Hit a home run Kelly!"...and he did! So now, she is pretty sure that our back up catcher should hit a home run every time he's at bat. There was an epic meltdown that occurred when she realized this wasn't the case...

We kicked off our first game of the season with Nick's whole family. She was just a bit excited...

*******************************
Continuing the journey of solid foods...
I think because of the medicine we have had to give her since she was 4 months old because of her heart issue,  (and because it doesn't taste good at all!)...I think she has associated now anything that we are trying to put in her mouth as yucky. She will only eat if she is "feeding" herself.

While part of me worries about this as well, I'm trying to just focus on one issue at a time.
And at least with her playing with the food and spoon much of it is ending up in her mouth by default.

Hopefully once her heart is fixed (in a couple weeks!) we can be done with the yucky medicine and focus on getting her to take delicious foods from us.

*********************************************
Tea parties and disheveled hair.
We rock them both.

She said to me in this picture, "I'm the mommy. I'm going to work".
It certainly isn't always easy, but I do hope that my working outside the home teaches her she can be whatever she wants to be.

Because I miss them like crazy when I'm away.

**********************************************
We headed over to Leavenworth for some eastern Washington sunshine and my sweet cousin Olivia's wedding. It was such a lovely, intimate and perfectly "them" wedding...up in the gorgeous mountains, a rustic horse drawn carriage, casual loveliness.

 Let's try that again...

The hotel experience and all of us sleeping in one room was another story...but we still had a fabulous time.

****************************************
Backyard hangin' as much as we can.

Something you won't ever hear... "Those Juhl girls sure are TAN!" ha! We are working with what we got.

****************************************
Summertime we are glad you are here.

It's a smile, it's a kiss, it's a sip of wine....IT'S SUMMERTIME!
