A walk down memory lane.

So here's the deal...
I have been blessed beyond deserving with amazing friendships. Always. Throughout every stage of my life I can look back and see how my days, my thoughts, my dreams, and so many of my joys have been shaped by these women.
A few weekends ago I got to take a special trip down memory lane with some of these special gals. These two gals who I grew up with...who I spent afternoons calling the Oldies station requesting our favorite Beatles or Credence Clearwater songs...who I shared classes, tears, laughs, ASB, and pool time Beekies who came bounding in our house with her gorgeous smile each morning at 6:30 a.m. after her Seminary and we'd play with makeup and get ready together each Kricky whose sweet mama always stocked my favorite potato rolls and reminded me where they were each time I was over (ahhhh, the days when I could eat carbs with abandon!) These girls who knew my dad and supported me through my darkest days.
These memories. Some are silly and some are intense. They stay with me always.
And though our daily lives have us divided between three states...when we are together, we are back. Back to our childhood.
They are home to me. And sharing my girls with them makes my heart explode. It really is something girls take to them as if they are buds we get to spend weekly play dates with. And seeing such dear lifetime friends loving on your kids? It really is something.
I'm telling you, blessed beyond deserving.

A little tidepool action...and the Big Gulp for Beeks. Always the Big Gulp.

Perfecting her Aunt Kricky face!

And speaking of Memory Lane...the weekend also included an al fresco dinner at the most darling Eastlake restaurant with Kricks and my girl Michelle. We yacked, caught up on life, and when we didn't want the night to end took to the streets and wandered up and down the streets of Eastlake and remembered the days of our 20's. Reminiscing the days when so many of us lived within blocks of each other. The days when we say each other at a minimum of 3 days a week. The days of finding jobs and careers. Of learning Seattle. The days of "going out". Of mornings at Louisa's for bagels and cream cheese and a "treat" aka our special name for the Caramel Latte that the darling owner made. The days of finding ourselves.

They are days that I will always treasure.
My first apartment with Miss Teresa!!

A good friend is a connection to life - a tie to the past, a road to the future, the key to sanity in a totally insane world.

My girls...thank you for being all of these things for me. I love you forever.

4th of July.

Our Samish Island 4th of July tradition continued again this year...thank goodness! If auntie and Peter ever decide to stop hosting for all of us, I'm not sure what we'll do!
A long weekend filled with family, good weather, small town parades and a little girl who hit the jackpot of candy collecting.
And can I just mention the fireworks show?! Hours long. Hours. People just all put on their own private shows all evening and everyone gets to enjoy. It made for some interesting sleeping and the latest night of Charlotte's young life so far, but it was worth it.
Holidays are always worth it.
I love the 4th.

 Somebody's been teething....

 Vampire Charlotte.

Seriously, have you seen a cuter Papa in your life?!

So many snuggles for our girls. Such lucky little ladies they are.

Thanks again to our fabulous hosts!! Until next year...
