Two kinds...

I have a theory that there are two kinds of people in this world...

1. Those who love musicals
2. Those who don't love musicals

I am so blessed that I have married a man who is of the #1 nature.

Tonight we had a fun date night of making a delicious dinner, enjoying some of this wine (which happens to be Nick's favorite of all time):

and watching "Mamma Mia"...

I'm sure it probably sounds like torture to many guys out there, and Nick may kill me for writing this, but he actually enjoys watching these shows and going to live musicals with me! Could it get any better?! The play itself will always be the best for me...and as much as I loved going to see the movie with my girls when it opened...there is something about watching it in your own home, singing along to every song, and dancing around to each song with your husband and puppy...I was just overwhelmed with happiness, especially after a stressful week. Such perfection.

While looking at Lynne's blog this evening, I saw that she is currently reading this:

Okay... is this new?! How have I not heard of this yet? I heart Jodi Picoult books and I REALLY REALLY heart whales (some of you have had the pleasure of reading some pretty awesome poems written by moi as a 4th grader...almost fully dedicated to, yep...whales).

This might have to be next on my list...

Allergy season is upon us {me} already. Seriously?! No joke I sneeze atleast about 20 times in the a.m., which then continues periodically throughout the day. Last year for those of us with allergies, it was "one of those bad years" and it is looking like this might be as well.

Thank goodness for some ON SALE Zyrtec today at Bartells! Hopefully tomorrow my eyes won't water away all my makeup...

Crazy Fun in San Fran!

We had the best time ever in San Francisco celebrating Crystal's birthday! Delicious dinners, wine tasting in Sonoma (complete with a birthday serenade for Crystal from "Shiloh Moon iTunes '09"....still giggling), March Madness brackets, bar-hopping, cab craziness, resting on snoops, the awesome Golden Gate bridge....I haven't laughed this hard in a long time!!
Girl weekends are the BEST!

Our concert this afternoon what exactly what I needed on this Sunday afternoon. It was a rare change that for the first half of the concert, the choir wasn't performing so I was able to enjoy the concert from the audience's perspective and just enjoy the beautiful music. After a pretty busy weekend, it was just what I needed.

We enjoyed dinner afterwards with Nick's dad and step-mom at Ponti's Seafood Grill....delish! It was my first time there and I'm happy to let everyone know in case you weren't already aware (I wasn't until today)...that Dine Around Seattle is back! This is a great way to try out those restaurants you might have on your "I've got to check that place out" list...30 participating restaurants, 3 course meals, $30 dollars...can't beat that!

So if you are wanting to get out there and stimulate the economy, I suggest getting to one of these restaurants during the month of March. Divine dining at a delicious price...

Conflicting worlds...

Here's to hoping that spring wins this little battle....and soon.

Oh boy! Birthdays are awesome...especially when cutest little Addy Mae is turning one! The girls and I drove down to Longview to celebrate the big day...what fun!

They're Maui'd!

Wow....look at me. We've been home from Coffey and Steve's wedding in Maui since Monday night and I'm finally getting around to blogging. Oops.

We had an amazing time in Hawaii....the wedding was gorgeous, weather wonderful (for the most part), lovely company...it was terrific!

As I've been driving in to work this week (because this is often where I do a lot of thinking), I can't help but feel an overwhelming amount of gratitude.

Gratitude for the opportunity to take such a special vacation...

with my hubby...
and with my special, special friends....
Gratitude for coming back to such a beautiful part of the country that is our home...
Gratitude for driving into work as opposed to not during this crazy economy...
Gratitude for my little puppy who makes me feel like the #1 person in the world...
